Event Details
Learn how to survive in the wilderness with limited resources.
Spend the day learning to make shelters out of raw materials, find and filter water, identify wild edibles, build a fire, make tools, build traps, make rope cordage from plants, learn basic wilderness first aid and more! You'll even cook some food over your newly made fire. This program will be run by CEC executive director Joe Meyer and all activities will be done in a safe manner.
This program is designed for 9-16 year olds and runs from 9:30am-2:30pm
***The instructor for this program is Joe Meyer, founder of the Catholic Ecology Center. He has worked in National Parks across the country where he was also wilderness first responder trained. He currently teaches science at Marquette University High School and is executive director of the Catholic Ecology Center.
